🪩 About the EP release 🪩
“Stay Soft” is the result of Berlin based DJ and producer, Sarah Farina, seeking the identity of a voice she loved on one of her favourite songs (Freak Like Me by DJ Deeon), only to discover the name wasn’t listed. Not on the version she was playing, or any of the 27+ remixes released in the past 28 years.

And so Farina, an artist on a mission to spread “Rainbow Bass”, a self-coined term for the colourful, uplifting musical energy she emanates with her diverse selections, was determined to find the artist that has never been credited. Sarah’s hope to find and work with the beautiful voice unintentionally became the story of another forgotten, overlooked Black femme vocalist.

Tish Bailey is a Chicago singer, songwriter & rapper, who’s voice & lyrics have been streamed 75+ million times since the release of the 1996 Dance Mania club anthem Freak Like Me by DJ Deeon (Rest in Power):

Unfortunately, it’s been an unscalable mountain to edit the credit (ironic how fun this sounds!) so this new transatlantic, intergenerational collaborative EP offers space for Tish Bailey’s voice to be heard... and her name to be seen.

“Stay Soft” is Sarah & Tish’s first project together consisting of three tracks across the 130-155 bpm spectrum. This diverse EP presents unexpected musical & lyrical range to evoke joy in any listener at home & on the dance floor.
